Team On a Mission Brands had a blast working with SJ Harrison, a voice and performance coach who works with people from a wide range of cultural and professional backgrounds to find their true voice. Her expertise is helping people become better communicators and speak with more impact using holistic tools that incorporate the physical, psychological, and emotional.

She believes that with the right tools, everyone can inform, persuade, and inspire. We ensured that this depth of emotion and expertise was reflected in every aspect of her WordPress website as we worked with her to rebuild her home, 1:1 coaching, lead magnet, and group program pages.

We wanted her new online home to feel like a safe space for professionals who felt fearful, anxious, or lacking about their ability to speak in public or communicate with ease. We wanted them to see SJ’s ability to help clients from a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and professional backgrounds. Plus, her drive to transform their challenges with public speaking into joyful opportunities to be heard and appreciated for what they had to say. 

We designed a website where people could see the possibilities and opportunities working with SJ would bring. 

Our Wordpress Website Launch To-Do List:

  • Analyze SJ’s existing website and resources to understand her brand and business, coming up with the best way to showcase SJ’s expertise as a voice and performance coach.

  • Write strategic copy for her lead magnet opt-in page, home page, 1:1 coaching page, and group program sales page. This included brainstorming her lead magnet and figuring out the best way to give a quick win to her audience. 

  • Reconfigure her brand colors to create an easy to navigate, cohesive, SEO-optimized website that both SJ and her ideal humans love.

  • Create an on-brand, highly flexible website that can be scaled up as SJ’s business grows further. 

The Process

After the initial clarity call, where we decided we'd be a great fit to work together, SJ filled out our branding and offer questionnaires. 

Based on her answers, we came up with a strategic website layout and determined what pages to give priority to as per her current needs. 

Once the site map was approved we started working on the copy for her website. We worked on the copy for one page at a time, and only when SJ was completely happy with the results did we move on to the next. 

Before we started writing the copy for each page, we came up with a framework that would drive maximum results for SJ based on her unique approach and clients. We had a strategy call with her before writing each page to:

  • walk her through our thought process

  • gather the necessary information that would help our copywriter understand her voice better

  • make any changes to the page framework if SJ required 

Once the copy for a particular page was approved, we moved on to the design phase of the website. 

With SJ, before we started designing, we created a new brand color palette from her existing colors to better reflect SJs true voice and brand. As with the copy, we ensured SJ remained in the loop for the design of every page of her website. 

The Result

An on-brand WordPress website that:

1) is a high-functioning part of a successful, converting sales funnel for her coaching business 

2) leads people to her email list 

3) showcases her expertise and history as a voice and performance coach of 15+ years.

Per SJ, she also achieved a lot of clarity on her messaging and branding after working with us. I’d say that’s a great bonus, as we loved every second of working with SJ.

I really feel seen by Lori! This is significant. Lori obviously has her own brand, and it’s so important in a marketing coach that they get YOUR brand and understand how it may be different from their own aesthetic. Her posture is always one of listening and simply being curious about the client and what’s going to work. I believed from the beginning that she is invested in serving her clients. I find her matter of fact and straightforward but also caring. One of the most difficult types of Coach to find in my view is a good marketing coach because there are SO many and I think people often overstate their knowledge and skill. I never felt that Lori sold to me, she just shared her thoughts and how she could serve.

It’s clear too that Lori has a great team and respects their expertise. This is really important to me. She has a lot of wisdom at her fingertips due to choosing good people around her and will always say if she doesn’t know something. This builds trust.

What was your favorite part of working together?

Communication is excellent and I appreciate their flexibility - great listening to understand my brand and also coming up with innovative solutions with me. Speed and follow through are excellent. Also, I am learning a lot from this team! I feel very well guided, and the team is very responsive.

Do you think this new website will help you empower professionals and leaders to transform their public speaking experience? How?

Yes. I believe that the website delivers my message and expertise clearly, and answers concerns and questions immediately in a format that addresses different buying styles.  The process has also made me define each product and its outcomes clearly. This has actually built my confidence and given me more clarity in what to express to prospective clients. Seeing my site I feel far more confident selling.

Name one thing that's your absolute favorite about the website. 

The colors! The first go round we discovered that my existing brand colors were kind of limited and not the right vibe. I said I wanted something that says strong but also soft and they came up with a palette from some of my existing colors that was great. It’s a lovely palette to work with for other content as well.
